The air is clearer now, and the leaves are beginning to settle along the gravel roads. The grass glistens with dew in the mornings, apples still hang here and there in the trees, and a thin morning mist lingers over the meadows for a while. Sometimes the sun breaks through, and suddenly the entire landscape glows with gold, rust-red, and green.
In the closet, the linen and the lightest summer clothes have made way for knit sweaters, soft corduroy, wool, and layer upon layer. The colors have grown deeper— dark brown, forest green, wine red, and natural white—and the boots have come out again.
There’s something special about fall. The misty mornings, the leaves swirling across the road, and the low sun filtering through the trees. Days when the air almost smells of the forest and wet leaves, and everything outside the window seems to shift in color from one morning to the next.
