Brown corduroy from fall to winter
It’s hard to imagine a fabric more associated with fall than corduroy. Soft, slightly old-fashioned, and just the right amount of rustic. This dress is brown and made from a thinner cotton corduroy, making it soft and comfortable to wear, with the classic simple silhouette of a shirt dress.
The style is long and loose with a shirt collar, buttons all the way down the front, and two chest pockets. The sleeves can be worn long or fastened up with a button and loop when you want them shorter. A simple dress that looks great just as it is, but is also easy to make more autumnal with a thin polo shirt underneath.
And when fall eventually gives way to winter, you’ll be happy to keep it around. Paired with a chunky-knit cardigan, wool-blend socks, and boots, it becomes the perfect dress for chilly mornings, firewood baskets by the door, and pale winter light filtering over old wooden floors.
