A romantic cotton blouse for fall days
There’s something about ecru-colored cotton and beautiful embroidery that feels lovely all year round. But perhaps most of all when fall arrives, when the closet fills with knits, brown tones, and slightly coarser fabrics, and a romantic blouse gets to peek out from underneath.
This one is made entirely of cotton and richly adorned with broderie anglaise. Across the front panel, soft smocked sections run down to the waist, and from there the blouse flares out. The sleeves are long and finish with smocking and a wide embroidered trim, and the same beautiful embroidery reappears along the hem.
It’s the kind of blouse that feels a bit like something you might have found in an old wardrobe out in the country. It looks great with corduroys and jeans now that the leaves are starting to fall, and later under a thick wool cardigan when the mornings get cold and winter slowly approaches.
