A warm sweater with the very finest little details

There’s something special about cream-white knitwear as fall begins to give way to winter. It pairs perfectly with brown skirts, corduroy, and chunky wool socks, when the leaves are still lying along the roadsides and the mornings have grown just cold enough that you’d rather linger indoors for a while.

This sweater is really thick and warm, with wool in the blend and a soft knit texture. The design is simple, but around the rounded collar and along the button placket there are small hand-crocheted lace trims. The buttons are in the same creamy white shade—cute and romantic in a way that almost feels like it was taken from an older garment.

And when November eventually turns to December, it feels just as natural. Paired with a long, dark skirt, fuzzy socks, and winter light streaming through the windows—or dressed up a bit when the Advent candles are lit and Christmas begins to approach. Not a Christmas sweater, just a very beautiful winter sweater that happens to look exceptionally nice even then.
